Cosmiconfluence

The Anti-Discrimination Project by Cosmiconfluence is designed for families whose children’s development is being adversely affected—particularly as a result of discrimination, structural disadvantage, or comparable challenges.

At the center of the project is not only the problem itself, but its impact:
children are not adequately supported in their development or experience hindered developmental progress during a critical phase of their development.

Many families recognize this situation but are unsure how to respond or encounter structural limitations within existing systems.

We offer affected families professionally guided support through psychologists who help assess the situation and clarify appropriate next steps.

Where appropriate, families are given access to the Cosmiconfluence Family Program.

This program represents the central intervention of the project and supports families in actively and systematically building and strengthening development within everyday life.

The support is practical, long-term in orientation, and provided free of charge to eligible families.

Our approach does not replace existing systems, but complements them where support is insufficient.

The goal is to enable development where it has not been adequately supported.

If you feel that your child’s development is being affected and you require support, you can contact our psychologists.

Anti-Discrimination Project by Cosmiconfluence

Project Identity

The Anti-Discrimination Project by Cosmiconfluence is an independent, professionally guided support structure for families whose children are affected by discrimination, including racial, religious, or comparable structural disadvantages.

The project does not focus solely on the general existence of discrimination, but specifically on its impact on children during a critical developmental phase.

It is initiated and operated by an independent psychologist with over 30 years of professional and research experience, and the developer of Cosmiconfluence. The project is intentionally designed to operate independently from institutional and governmental power structures in order to provide direct, accessible, and effective support to affected families.

The project is preventive and development-oriented. It is designed as a complementary support system that does not replace existing structures, but intervenes where developmental limitations are not adequately addressed.

Problem Context

The starting point of the project lies not only in the general existence of discrimination, but more importantly in its impact on children during a critical stage of development.

At its core is the observation that children from certain target groups—particularly due to background, social conditions, or attributed characteristics—are not sufficiently supported in their development, experience hindered development, or are systematically limited in their developmental opportunities.

This dynamic does not occur only in isolated cases. It manifests as recurring patterns that can become embedded in everyday structures, expectations, and evaluative systems.

This is especially critical because these processes occur during a phase in which the foundation for future development is established.

A central amplifying factor is the presence of power imbalances between children and institutional or professional structures:

  • Professionals and institutions possess evaluative and decision-making authority

  • Children often lack the capacity to fully understand or effectively respond to these dynamics

Families are frequently also limited in their ability to act effectively due to:

  • uncertainty in navigating systems

  • structural disadvantages

  • limited resources

  • bureaucratic complexity

As a result, developmental limitations are often not sufficiently addressed or corrected.

The central consequence is that developmental potential is not fully built during a critical phase.

These early developmental limitations have long-term effects and shape future life trajectories. Many individual and societal challenges observed later—such as reduced opportunities, instability, or social tension—can often be traced back to such early limitations in development.

The core issue, therefore, is not only discrimination as an act, but its lasting impact:
the restriction of development in groups with limited capacity to respond or compensate.

Needs Assessment

The project is based on extensive practical experience in the field of child and youth services over more than 15 years.

During this period, recurring patterns have been identified that cannot be understood as isolated incidents but rather as structural issues.

Affected families require in particular:

  • orientation in complex situations

  • professional interpretation of their experiences

  • concrete and applicable courses of action

  • support in enabling their children's development

At the same time, significant barriers exist within existing support systems. These systems are often complex, difficult to access, or limited in their practical effectiveness.

This results in a critical gap:
the lack of independent, directly accessible, and development-focused support structures.

The project directly addresses this gap.

Purpose and Objectives

The overarching objective of the project is to actively enable development where it has been hindered or insufficiently supported during a critical phase.

The project pursues two central objectives:

First:
To provide affected children with real opportunities for healthy development by strengthening emotional, social, and cognitive capacities, and by fostering self-efficacy and orientation.

Second:
To counteract the effects of systematic disadvantage by enabling developmental processes independently of the conditions under which these limitations originally occurred.

The project does not primarily aim to change institutional systems, but to directly support those affected.

The family serves as the central lever, as it provides the most direct and continuous access to the child.

Short-term objectives:

  • orientation

  • clarification

  • initial stabilization

Mid-term objectives:

  • improved capacity for action

  • effective use of support structures

  • structured engagement with development

Long-term objectives:

  • stable development

  • increased resilience

  • improved participation opportunities

  • reduction of long-term societal consequences

The central approach of the project is:
to enable development as the most effective response to early disadvantage.

Target Group

The primary target group consists of children and their families affected by discrimination, structural disadvantage, or comparable challenges.

The secondary target group includes parents and caregivers who are actively involved in supporting the child’s development.

Professional and Methodological Foundation

The project is grounded in developmental psychology, psychosocial frameworks, child protection principles, and the understanding of broader societal interdependencies.

At its core is the recognition that developmental limitations during a critical phase can have long-term effects on both individual life trajectories and societal outcomes.

The methodology follows a practical, accessible approach.

The core process consists of:

  • consultation

  • professional assessment

  • decision-making regarding appropriate support

  • guided implementation

Psychologists play the central professional role.

The Cosmiconfluence Resonance Analysis is provided exclusively as a supporting tool for psychologists to enhance their ability to structure, reflect on, and interpret complex cases.

It is not part of the intervention offered to families.

Concept Model

The project is based on a clear structure consisting of:

  • funding

  • professional access layer (psychologists)

  • central intervention (family program)

These elements interact to form a coherent and functional system.

Funding Model

The project is funded through a defined model in which 20% of Cosmiconfluence’s annual profit is allocated to the project.

These resources are used exclusively to finance the psychological consultation and support structure.

The family program remains entirely free of charge for affected families.

Support System

The support system is based on the professional work of psychologists and functions as the access point for families.

It includes:

  • orientation

  • clarification of concerns

  • professional assessment

  • decision-making

  • guided support

Its function is not to provide the primary solution, but to ensure that families are guided toward the appropriate intervention.

The central intervention is the family program.

Intervention: Family Program

The Cosmiconfluence Family Program is the central and sole intervention of the project for affected families.

It is specifically designed to enable development where it has previously been restricted, hindered, or insufficiently supported.

The program is a structured developmental framework that supports long-term processes within the family’s daily life.

It integrates:

  • reflection

  • structured engagement with developmental conditions

  • documentation

  • practical application in everyday life

Its core aim is to strengthen:

  • emotional development

  • social competence

  • self-efficacy

  • relational dynamics within the family

The program functions as a practical countermeasure to early developmental limitations.

Access is based on professional assessment and is fully free of charge.

Support Process

  • initial contact

  • professional assessment

  • case interpretation

  • decision

  • access to the family program

  • guided implementation

Safeguarding and Boundaries

The project does not provide therapy or emergency services.

In high-risk situations, referrals to specialized institutions are made.

Roles and Responsibilities

Psychologists: assessment, decision-making, guidance
Cosmiconfluence: structure, funding, program
Families: active participation

Quality and Ethics

The project operates with responsibility, realism, and transparency, maintaining clear boundaries and avoiding unrealistic promises.

Data Protection

All information is treated confidentially and handled in accordance with strict data protection standards.

Impact

  • orientation and stabilization

Mid-term:

  • improved functioning and structured development

Long-term:

  • sustainable development

  • increased resilience

  • improved participation
